Privacy policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026
BookWise AI ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information, in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and its fair information principles.
1. Accountability
We are responsible for personal information under our control. Our privacy contact is Mohamed Abdulmalik, reachable at admin@bookwise.et or by mail at BookWise AI, 223 Parliament Street, Toronto, ON M5A 2Z4, Canada.
2. What we collect
- Contractors and prospective clients: information you give us through our contact form, by email or on a call, such as your name, business name, email, phone number, website and details about your business.
- Customers of our clients: when a homeowner uses an assistant we run on a contractor's website, they may share their name, phone number, email, address or postal code and details of the job. We process this on behalf of that contractor to handle the inquiry.
- Website use: this website does not use cookies or analytics. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and operation.
3. Why we collect it
- To respond to your inquiry and provide, set up and support our services.
- To pass job inquiries, booking requests and urgent alerts to the contractor the customer contacted.
- To send confirmations, reminders, follow-ups and review requests on behalf of our clients.
- To bill clients and meet our legal obligations.
We collect only what we need for these purposes and don't sell personal information.
4. Consent
We collect, use and disclose personal information with your consent, except where the law allows otherwise. By submitting our contact form or using an assistant on a client's website, you consent to the uses described here. You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits, by contacting us. We send commercial electronic messages only in line with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and every such message includes a way to unsubscribe.
5. Sharing and service providers
We share personal information only:
- with the contractor a customer contacted through their website assistant;
- with service providers that help us run the service, such as website hosting, AI processing, text messaging, email and calendar tools, who may use it only to provide their services to us; and
- where required by law.
Some service providers may store or process information outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of that country. Our key service providers are Zoho Mail (email) and PayPal (payments).
6. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or anonymize it. When a client cancels, they can keep their lead data, and we delete our copy within 30 days of a written request or of the end of the service, unless the law requires us to keep it.
7. Safeguards
We use reasonable physical, organizational and technical safeguards suited to the sensitivity of the information, such as access controls and encrypted connections, to protect it against loss, theft and unauthorized access.
8. Accuracy, access and correction
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it or delete it. We'll respond within 30 days. If you contacted a contractor through one of our assistants, you can also contact that contractor directly.
9. Questions and complaints
Contact us at admin@bookwise.et with any question or concern. If we can't resolve it, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
